The Argus Group, in partnership with the Department of Health and Bermuda Hospitals Board, today [Mar.31] hosted the Argus Healthy Living Expo at CedarBridge Academy from 10am until 3pm.
The event got off to a lively start with a jump rope showcase by Northland Skippers, who were joined by Minister of Health Zane DeSilva and Alison Hill, CEO of the Argus Group.
The Argus Group has teamed up with Bermuda Heart Foundation this year to advocate jump rope as an inexpensive but effective means of getting fit and looking after your heart health. Continuing this message, the theme of the Argus Healthy Living Expo was “Jump Start Your Heart” and Argus gave away free jump ropes to visitors at its booth.
The expo attracted crowds of visitors with over 40 booths representing health-related charities, professional associations, medical departments and non-profit organisations. Health professionals were on hand to answer questions and provide information to the public on a wide range of health topics.
Exhibitors included Bermuda Diabetes Association, Fitness Bay, Bermuda Eye Institute, Family Centre, Nutrifit, Bermuda Cancer & Health Centre, Open Airways, National Drug Council, Catlin End to End, Age Concern and La Leche. The Bermuda Massage Therapy Association provided free mini massages to visitors and the Department of Health delivered oral health screenings.
This free public event, formally known as Argus Health Fair, was restyled this year in order to enhance its relevance and accessibility to a wider cross-section of the community.
