Sears Store Grand Opening Next Week

March 1, 2012

The Grand Opening of the new Sears store will be held next Wednesday [Mar.7], with Premier Paula Cox scheduled to cut the ribbon and officially open the new retail outlet.

The new store will be located at 41 Victoria Street in Hamilton next to The Shopping Centre Supermarket.

Owned by MarketPlace, the store hired 8 new employees, and will feature 12,000 square feet of retail space selling product lines in top brands such as Kenmore, GE, Whirlpool and Craftsman at what Marketplace said would be “everyday low prices.”

Items for sale will include Refrigerators & Freezers, Washers & Dryers, Ovens and Microwaves, Household Appliances, Craftsman Tools, Hardware & Mechanical Accessories, Lawn & Garden Machinery and Tools, Outdoor Furniture, Fitness Equipment and more.

Service and delivery will also be offered, and certain custom orders may be made from the Solutions Station within the Sears store.

A large brand name store? See the problems overseas:

  2. @Work says:

Sears in BDA, thought that was illegal. Home Depot next? Guess no one told MarketPlace that local retail was losing money. What is everyday low prices?

    • reddy says:

Back in the late 70′s there was a Kenmore outlet at the Heron Bay Marketplace.
I still have the fan I bought there.

Still , in this economy … ? They better have some seriously low prices and some good backup service.

    • all clogged up says:

Just do what the realestate ppl did….hookup…..if Gorhams has ACE then I can start a HOME DEOPT affilliate….

  3. Rice Cakes says:

Don’t know why you think its illegal. Perhaps you are confused with foreign food franchises which are illegal. KFC got thru – and to a lesser extent 4 Star pizza.

  4. Razor Ramon says:

    Now get a WalMart here!

  5. REALISM says:

  6. In the know says:

  7. Datbye says:

Seems odd. i thought this wasn’t kosher, too. But, hey this is Bermuda if you have enough money you can do anything.

And yes it is a Sears-branded store its just independently own by the Market Place Group this maybe how they got cross that.

Lets just see how the prices are going to be it would be hard to have prices anywhere close to the states but if they are resonable hey would be a good move.

    Time will tell.

    Blessing All.
