Two Women Injured In Sandys Collision

Two young women were injured on Saturday [Mar.17], in a situation in which they are said to have been occupants of the car when it crashed in Sandys, but it is not clear who the driver of of the car was.

A police spokesperson said, “Around 1:45am on Saturday, March 17th police and first responders attended a reported collision on Mangrove Bay Road in Sandys parish near the junction with Mangrove Lane involving two cars.

“It appears that a green car was traveling along Mangrove Bay Road when it collided with a white car parked in the area. Both vehicles were reportedly heavily damaged as a result.

“It is unclear who the driver of the green car was at the time of the collision; however two females, believed to be occupants of the vehicle at the time, were taken to King Edward VII Memorial Hospital via ambulance for treatment of their injuries.

“At last check one of the alleged victims, a 20 year old Southampton woman, was receiving treatment for an arm injury while the other alleged victim, a 19 year old Sandys parish woman, had been treated and released.

“Inquiries into this incident are ongoing and any witnesses or anyone with any information is encouraged to contact PC Kevin Medeiros on 295-0011.”
