Photos: Somerset Over 40s Win R.O Smith Trophy
Somerset won the Over 40s R.O Smith Trophy yesterday [Apr.14] after they met up with the St. George’s Over 40s at the Wellington Oval. The crowds loudly cheered their teams on as the game played out with many moments causing great laughter.
Shaun Roberts gave the visiting Somerset Over 40s team the lead in the first half when his long range shot beat Greg Smith in goal for the St. George’s Over 40s.
Clifton Anderson doubled the Somerset Over 40s lead when he got on the end of a free kick and his left footed shot leaving St. George’s Over 40’s goalkeeper Troy Hall with no chance, giving Somerset the 2 – 0 victory.
