May 10, 2012

Bermuda Cricket Board President Lloyd Fray announced today [May 10] that agreement has been reached between SBRC and the BCB to enable them to participate in the 2012 cricket season. The agreement follows the temporary suspension of the club from last weekends action.

Lloyd Fray stated: “I am very pleased that all stakeholders have come together in the interest of cricket and the local SBRC community to allow for cricket to be enjoyed at White Hill this season. The BCB is working diligently with Minister Bean, President of SBRC and the Ministry of Youth, Families and Sport to implement a sustainable successful solution for that club and its community.”

Minister Bean commented, “I am very encouraged with the willingness shown by the BCB to leave no stone unturned to support cricket and the community at White Hill. As President of the club I will continue my commitment to ensure that a win-win permanent solution is found in the near future.

Minister Blakeney said: “I applaud the efforts of the BCB and the stakeholders of SBRC. My Ministry has been following this matter closely and will continue providing support to ensure that cricket thrives in our community.”
