56-Year-Old Man In Critical Condition

A 56-year-old man is in critical condition in the Intensive Care Unit after an incident yesterday [May 26] in the Harrington Sound Road area in which he was sitting on a wall and fell overboard. He was rescued by members of the public, and then rushed to hospital.

A police spokesperson said, “Around 5pm on Saturday, May 26th police and first responders attended a reported medical emergency in the Harrington Sound Road, Devil’s Hole Hill Smith’s parish area.

“It appears that a 56 year old Pembroke man was sitting on a wall in the area when he fell overboard and had to be rescued by members of the public. Police officers and members of the public initially attended to the victim before EMTs arrived on scene to assist.

“The 56 year old man was then taken to King Edward VII Memorial Hospital via ambulance and at last check was in critical condition in the Intensive Care Unit. Inquiries into this incident are ongoing.”

    Overboard? He wasn’t on a boat, right? So it’s not “overboard”. You can’t fall overboard if you’re not ONboard.

      Technically you are correct Sir. One would need to be on a boat of some sort to fall overboard. He simply fell into the water!
