I invite you to break in my place – but you will be carried out on a stretcher – or in a body bag. I can’t have a gun. or pepper spray, but I got weapons hidden in every room and outside.

    Stop by if you dare.

They normally target homes while the owners/occupants are at work or away from the premises. They pry open locks and smash windows if necessary. The police have their work cut out for them because it gets worse when teenagers are on their summer break.

This is true, I came home early one day from work, around 10:30am, I was driving down my road and there was 2 young guys standing in the road by my property both on phones, not right outside my gate but in view of it. Neither of them would look at me but when I drove past them and when looked in my rear view I was being watched like a hawk. I pulled into my yard and saw two little legs running on the other side of my hedge. Luckily for him he managed to find an alternate route out of my yard before I did unspeakable things to his face but when I walked over to my wall and told his mates my dog would be right there, magically they vanished too. My guess is they keep watch while/until the other gets in and either join in or stay on the lookout. So that’s what cameras are for now, the ones that activate on movement and send a picture to my smartphone. Also while I’m out my trained shepherd (no not sheep herder) spends his days chillin in the house and he’s not very friendly to strangers. If that kid had got into my house, that would have been one hell of a story to explain to mommy at KEMH, if he made it that far.

        • Get smart says:

They’ve been utilising cell phones and lookouts for a few years now. When you turn into your gate/estate road they’re calling their ace boys who are probably already in your house. Already happened to a few people I know.

If you see anyone ‘strange’ sitting on a bike with a phone in their hands in your immediate area as you drive to your house and they’re acting nonchalant expect the worst.

The threats are all well an nice but like RU said , if you aren’t at home and have a bunch of neighbours who are asleep at the wheel or don’t recognise who should and shouldn’t be in the area you’re pretty much SOL .
That’s what’s happenned to me on a few occasions.

People need to be on the lookout constantly and not afraid to call the police.
In these instances they’re normally very quick to respond .

Now make an example of these little thieves whose actions have rattled a few people for years to come .

Be intelligent for a minute. Ever heard the saying “if you go out looking for blood, you’ll find it”? Why invite trouble then? We’re just prepared, most likely they won’t be. Element of surprise is a time tested tactic.
