15 Weekend Arrests, 7 For Impaired Driving
Police arrested fifteen people over the course of the weekend with eight people for outstanding warrants, and seven people on suspicion of impaired driving.
A police spokesperson said, “Around 12:20am on Sunday June 24th, police were on mobile patrol along South Road in Southampton when they noticed a car that was travelling erratically. The officers subsequently stopped the car and approached the driver, a 53 year old Warwick woman, who appeared to be intoxicated.
“As a result, the Warwick woman was arrested on suspicion of impaired driving. She later failed the alco-analyser test and was detained in police custody as a result. A court appearance is anticipated in due course.
“Around 9:50pm on Friday June 22nd, police were conducting stop and search checks along Parsons Road in Pembroke when they observed a motorcycle that was travelling erratically. Officers stopped the vehicle and approached the rider, a 55 year old Pembroke man who appeared to be intoxicated.
“As a result, he was arrested on suspicion of impaired driving. He later failed the alco-analyser test and was detained in police custody as a result. A court appearance is anticipated in due course.”
