Current Bermuda Swimming Records Updated
The Bermuda Amateur Swimming Association have released the latest new short and long course list of records set recently.
Jessica Bruton set three new 8 and under Short Course Records during the Summer Age Group Championships at the BASA pool. Bruton now holds the records in the 100m Freestyle with a time of 1:23.45, the 50m Backstroke clocking 0:44.29 and the 100m Backstroke with a time of 1:35.59.
Emma Harvey set four new records and Ashley Irby set three in the 9-10 girls age group during the same Summer Age Group Championships meet. Harvey broke the 50m Backstroke record with a time of 0:36.21, the 50m Butterfly clocking 0:34:12. She also now holds the 100m Butterfly record with a time of 1:15.80 and the 100m Individual Medley Record with a time of 1:18.07.
Ashley Irby is the current record holder of the 50m Freestyle clocking 0:30.71, the 100m Freestyle with a time of 1:08.24 and she holds the 200m Freestyle Record of 2:29.01.
Shannon Hassell, Susanna Armano, Jessie Thomas and Anna Harrington are the new 13-14 Girls 4 x 50m Medley Relay record holders after recording a time of 2:21.89.
Aaron Rego, Ferdinand Arnold, Jessie Washington and Ryan Robb are the new 13-14 Boys 4 x 50 Medley Relay record holders after clocking a time of 2:15.70.
Lisa Blackburn is the 100m Long Course Women’s Open Breaststroke record holder after she clocked 1:11.54 at the XLV Santa Clara Invitational in California.
Tyler Smith now holds the 15-16 Boy’s 800 Long Course Meter Freestyle record after clocking 10:08.77 at the YMCA Norris Pool in Naples, Florida.
Irby and Harvey smashed several 9-10 Girls Long Course records at the YMCA Norris Pool in Naples Florida.
Irby holds the 100m Freestyle Record after touching the wall in a time of 1:09.46. She also holds the 200m Freestyle clocked at 2:32.79, the 800m Freestyle record after clocking 10:56.18 and she holds the 100m Backstroke record clocking a time of 1:24.51.
Harvey holds the 50m Butterfly record after clocking a time of 0:34.01 and the 100m Butterfly record touching the wall in a time of 1:16.37. Harvey also holds the 200m Backstroke record after clocking a time of 2:53.97, the 50m Breaststroke with a time of 0:42.97, the 200m Breaststroke record with a time of 3:19.24 as well as the 200m Individual Medley record with a time of 2:50.42.
