Red Sox Win 2012 YAO 7-9 Year Rookie League
The Red Sox were crowned the 2012 YAO Rookie League 7-9 Year Olds Champions yesterday [June 23]. The YAO Baseball Bermuda Rookie season came to a close with the finals held between the Rookie Red Sox and the Rookie Orioles for the League Championship.
The first inning started with two quick outs. Sam Resnik then singled followed by a Marco Stirling double, Nicholas Bonano and Jannis Roberts drove in runs for the Red Sox to take a quick 2-0 lead.
Orioles countered with a run in their half of the first. The Red Sox broke out with 4 runs in the third with key hits by Kaelin Paynter and Aaron White.
Each team played well in the field, with the Red Sox winning the Championship with a final score of 10 – 6.
