YAO All-Stars Split Games in Championships

The Bermuda YAO Cal Ripken All-Stars for 2012 have begun taking part in the New England Championships, after two games Bermuda are 1 and 1.

The YAO Cal Ripken All-stars for 2012 are led by Manager Head Coach Mike Daly, Bench Assistant Coach Pat Neal , and Assistant Coach Mikey Daly. Players: Josh Allen, Ian Anderson, Andrew Daly, Kip Malpas, Billy Montgomery, Owen Neal, Chris Ricca, Mateo Rodriguez, Dylan Somerville and Robbie Turnball. Bat boy will be Connor Somerville.

In their first game Bermuda came out firing, but couldn’t hang on to the lead, ending up on the losing side of a 9 – 3 ballgame against Hudson.

Bermuda and Townsend passed the lead back and forth four times at Townsend, but in the end Bermuda pulled out the win in six innings 8 – 6.

In the loss, Josh Allen threw 67 pitches including 37 strikes, he also hit a Home Run, Owen Neal was the second pitcher used he threw 48 pitches throwing 29 strikes and the Connor Somerville threw 20 pitches that included 9 strikes.

In the win over Townsend Bermuda got a Home Run from Josh Allen, Allen had 2RBI’s, they also got RBI’s from Chris Ricca, Andrew Daley, Billy Montgomery and Ian Anderson.

Bermuda used two pitchers in the win, Mateo Rodriquez and Robbie Turnbull, Rodriquez threw 72 pitches, with 39 strikes, while Turnbull threw 62 pitches and 36 strikes.
