Bailey’s Bay are the 2012 Lindo’s Twenty20 Champions after defeating St David’s by 5 wickets yesterday [Aug 10].
St. David’s Cricket Club won the toss and elected to bat, they were restricted to 141/8 in their 20 overs with Delyone Borden the top scorer with 33 from 22 deliveries, Borden hit four sixes in his innings, Fiqre Crockwell hit four fours and one six in his 23 ball knock of 28, while Loren Marshall scored 23 from 13 deliveries. Lateef Trott was the pick of the Bailey’s Bay bowlers with figures of 4-0-12-2, while Irving Romaine bowled 2-0-17-2 and Burton Outerbridge bowled 4-0-30-2.
In reply Bailey’s Bay was cruising at 94/0, but soon found themselves at 123/5, with three wickets falling on 123. Bailey’s Bay Captain and Man of the Match Stephen Outerbridge led from the front scoring 66 off 48 deliveries before being run out, Outerbridge hit nine four and one six, while his opening partner Sinclair Smith added 24 from 30 deliveries.
