Tropical Storm Sandy Forms In Atlantic

The Bermuda Weather Service is monitoring and issuing updates on Tropical Storm Sandy, the nineteenth named storm of the season. Tropical Storm Sandy is not considered a threat to Bermuda at this time.

The Weather Service said Sandy’s closest point of approach to Bermuda within 72 hrs is forecast to be 688 nm to the WSW, 6.00pm on Friday [Oct 26]. Tropical Storm Sandy is currently approximately 260 miles SSW of Kingston, Jamaica with maximum sustained winds of 50mph.
