Photos: Wuz Up Block Party & BBQ Contest
Adopt-A-Family Bermuda hosted the ‘Wuz Up Block Party & BBQ Competition’ on Saturday [Oct 6] at the First Church of God Complex on North Shore Road, Pembroke.
The North Shore property was inundated with crowds lining up to enjoy the festivities. Children found the soapy water-slide to be the highlight with the kids racing back to the line after their ride was done, while the younger ones bounced around on the fun castles in a nearby courtyard.
There was a bake sale selling fresh goods, and vendors were on hand providing donuts, ice cream, popcorn, snowballs, cotton candy and more. The BBQ area was kept busy with hungry attendees lining up for a taste of the different offerings.
There was lots of seating available with a live band providing entertainment for those relaxing and socializing. Director of Missions, Mr Jeremy Johnson was pleased with the turn out and was looking forward to a rest after the event. Those attending were invited to a presentation on initiatives the First Church of God wants to put in place.

I am glad the church has finally had an event like this and I hope it will become annually. Its long overdue and finally they have come from behind the walls. Church should be about the community Great stuff.
This was an amazing event!! Free food for 2,000 people and a completely positive chance to socialize. I am in agreement with Sheena – an incredible demonstration of how the church makes a difference. May we continue to see how churches can positively impact a community.
Awesome!
Great job you guys…thank you!
