Mark Ballots Correctly Or Vote May Not Count

November 30, 2012

Parliamentary Registrar Randy Scott today advised that voters should mark their ballot papers correctly or they risk their vote not being counted.

Mr. Scott said: “The instructions to voters are very clear on the ballot. Writing your name or anything else on it which does not give a clear indication or intent for whom you wish to vote will render the ballot spoiled and it will not be counted.”

A group has been running ads in local media asking voters to write in another option and to tick that option. Mr. Scott said doing so may spoil the ballot. If the returning officer cannot determine a clear intent of the voter, the ballot will be spoiled.

So I can’t write in Alfred E. Neuman and put an ‘X’ next to his name?

  2. Come Correct says:

Well unless there’s a marijuana leaf walking around at the polling station, I guess you can consider mine spoiled…if there is a marijuana leaf walking around, don’t wander into a dark alley, I have rizzla and I’m not afraid to stick an L-paper.

  3. Judge Dredd says:

What if I put “SURROGATE” opposition leader Craig Cannonier?
Or should I just write surrogate next to all black OBA candidates?
    PLP!!!

    • Barracuda says:

So , what you are saying is , all the thousands of black people who vote OBA aren’t really black? How insulting.

      • Family Man says:

        LaVerne would call the “confused”.

      • Judge Dredd says:

NO! Dafuq you smoking? Learn how to read. The document called their own black candidates “a handful of black surrogates” and even said that the new black voters who didn’t vote for them were “downscale” and “less educated”. How’s that for insults?

        • Barracuda says:

Sorry, I didn’t read the fake document.

          • Barracuda says:

As to the ‘Dafuq you smokin?’, the only dope I’ve seen lately is you.

          • Judge Dredd says:

Yes you sure are sorry because Kim Swan said it’s REAL so actually it’s the fake people like you who refuse to read it because it’s the ultimate agent to cognitive dissonance. I know it hurts and if I could take away the pain I would…….maybe.

The slimy “it’s fake” tactic won’t get you out of this one lol better to fess up and form a new party. How about the new oba NOBA

  4. Enough says:

I think you might be getting Surrogate and Subordinate confused……..

  5. Terry says:

So whir do ya put dee axe?

  7. Andrew Carmichael says:

There are one or two people from both parties that genuinely want to do something to help our country. For the rest, it is all about power and the PARTY! By the way, “Power” is what the voters give. You voters have to learn to take away that power when needed. Is it ok to drive from Somerset to St. Georges with your foot to the floor? Whatever party gets in, stand up to them “en masse” when the they try to push through something that is not right. Victor Scott Primary and T.N.Tatem are excellent examples. As for me, I am for Shared Parenting, and as a man that has gone 50 years of age, that has contributed positively to his community, will I let a “scared for his job” politician tell me what to do.

Good thing the Bermuda ballot is so simple. It is X here or there. Given the standard of education & the inability to read by so many, imagine if there were also a bunch of questions on the ballot such as gaming, yes or no, any other issue, yes or no?
