‘Sandys Speaks’ Event Set For March 12
The Sandys Parish Council is inviting residents to “Sandys Speaks: A Community Conversation” on Thursday [March 12] at 6.30pm at the Willowbank Conference Centre in Somerset.
A spokesperson said, “The Sandys Parish Council [SPC] is inviting residents from across the parish and beyond to attend ‘Sandys Speaks: A Community Conversation,’ an evening dedicated to open dialogue, shared perspectives, and strengthening connections within the community.
“The event will take place on Thursday, March 12, 2026, at 6:30 p.m. at the Willowbank Conference Centre in Somerset.
“Designed as a relaxed and engaging community conversation, Sandys Speaks will bring together residents and community voices to reflect on issues that matter to the parish while encouraging thoughtful discussion and connection.
“Unlike traditional town halls or formal presentations, the evening will follow a conversational ‘fireside chat’ format, where invited participants and community members share experiences, insights, and perspectives in a moderated discussion.
“Two key themes will guide the conversation:
- Navigating Today, Preparing for Tomorrow – exploring everyday financial realities, planning for the future, and how residents are adapting to changing economic circumstances.
- Building Safer, Stronger Neighbourhoods – discussing community responsibility, early engagement, and the role we all play in supporting young people and strengthening neighbourhood connections.
“The evening will also include short spotlight conversations highlighting youth perspectives and the importance of preserving Bermuda’s history, culture, and legacy.
“The goal of Sandys Speaks is simple: to create space where residents can listen, share, and connect.”
“Strong communities grow through conversation,” said representatives from the Sandys Parish Council. “Sometimes the most important step forward is simply creating space for people to be heard, to listen to one another, and to strengthen the relationships that help move our community forward.”
The spokesperson said, “Attendees will also have the opportunity to participate in audience discussions, enjoy light refreshments, and take part in door prize drawings during the evening.
“The event is open to all members of the public.
