Jonte Smith Makes Crawley Town Debut

Bermuda’s Jonte Smith made his debut for English League One team Crawley Town this weekend. The 18-year-old came on for the last 10 minutes in the 3-0 defeat to AFC Bournemouth at the Goldsands Stadium and was thrilled to play his part.

Smith said, “It was a special moment for me and one I will never forget. I just wish we had finished up getting a better result.”

“I got the call from the manager and I thought I did fine when I came on, I wish I’d had an opportunity to get a chance at goal.It was a big milestone for me and I hope there are many more to come.”

Crawley Town Manager Richie Barker said, “Every player remembers their debut and I was delighted to give Smith his, even though the game ended in disappointment for him and us. He’s a good kid with a lot of potential who is only going to improve.”
