Motorcycle, House, Car Fire In Warwick
In the early hours of this morning [Dec 7] a motorcycle caught on fire, which caused the car next to it to also catch on fire, as well as parts of the nearby house. The family was at home at the time, however managed to escape without injury.
Both the Bermuda Fire & Rescue Service and Police responded to the Warwick residence, with police officers setting up a road block on Harbour Road and restricting access while firefighters extinguished the fire.
A statement from the BFRS said: “At approximately 12:50am this morning BFRS was alerted to a fire at #58 Harbour Road Warwick where it was reported that a motorcycle, car and a house was on fire.
“BFRS responded to the emergency incident with three vehicles, 10 personnel. The first arriving appliance arrived on scene at approximately 1:00am to discover that a motorcycle was fully involved in fire, which caused a nearby parked car to be partially involved as well as flames impinging on the nearby house.
“Two firefighter in breathing apparatus quickly extinguished the fire however, a motorcycle was totally destroyed, the front of a Suzuki APV car was partially destroyed, a garage door was totally destroyed and the structure in close proximity to the vehicles suffered minor heat and smoke damage.
“Occupants of the house were home at the time of the incident, however managed to escape without injury. Although the incident is not thought to be suspicious, the matter is being thoroughly investigated.
