Mirrors Programme Free Parent Workshop
The Ministry of Community and Cultural Development said they would like to advise the public that there are still a few spots remaining for the Mirrors Programme’s Free Parent Workshop this weekend.
“The workshops are specifically designed to help motivate and empower adults to be more effective with their children and other youth in their community,” a spokesperson said.
“The Parent Workshop is an interactive programme which runs for two and a half days. Benefits of the programme include having a renewed appreciation for self and what it means to be a parent, new ideas on how to effectively work with young people and a sense of empowerment and confidence in producing improved results.
“The Parent Workshop is being held at The Fairmont Hamilton Princess on Friday, January 18th from 6.00pm – 9.00pm and Saturday and Sunday, January 19th and 20th from 9.00am – 6.00pm. Those interested are asked to contact Jennifer Ross at The Mirrors Programme on 294-9291 or jaross@gov.bm to register.”

Instead of waiting until children have already grown up with parents in need of some parenting education – why aren’t these classes mandatory for parents with newborns so that parents can know what they should be doing from day 1 with yearly classes until the child reaches 18. Then perhaps or hopefully the current Mirrors programme as we know it may be redundant.
