Bradford City & Nahki Wells Are Off To Wembley!
[Updated: Nahki Wells and Bradford City became the first League 2 club to reach the League Cup final for 51 years as they defeated Premier League side Aston Villa with a 4-3 aggregate victory. Bradford will now take on either Swansea or Chelsea at Wembley at the end of February. Bermuda’s Nahki Wells started the game and was substituted in the 86th minute. The 22-year-old will be the third Bermudian footballer to play at Wembley – joining Shaun Goater and Kyle Lightbourne]
Nahki Wells and Bradford City will take on Aston Villa today [Jan 22] in the second leg of the Capital One Semi Final, with kick off scheduled for 3.45pm Bermuda time.
Bradford has had a sensational run in the Cup this far, making it through to the semi-finals following a dramatic penalty shoot-out victory over Arsenal in the quarter-final. They then defeated Aston Villa in their first match-up on January 8th, with Nahki Wells opening the scoring in the 19th minute.
The 22-year-old Bermudian, who is Bradford’s leading scorer, can be expected to feature prominently in today’s match up, which will hopefully be televised on ESPN channel 22 or 115 and WOW 103.
Bradford’s hometown media has already got a live blog running with the lead up to today’s match, which can be viewed here.
