Photos: Classic Bike & Mobylette Gathering

January 6, 2013

Sunday the 6th January saw almost forty classic auxiliary and motorcycles gathered at the horse and buggy stand on Front Street. Some of the old time Bermuda favorites included the French-made Mobylette and Peugeot 50cc powered cycles.

Notables included a super clean bright orange Vespa scooter with spotless chrome rims which was owned by OBA MP Jeff Sousa; old Kawasaki and Yamaha trail bikes and a bright black red, green and blue Mobylette. While the old Mobylettes and Peugeots were running, many people there commented on how it sounded like ‘Ice Queen back in the day.’

Awesome bikes, love the vespa, the blacked out bike, and the various mobylettes. Wish this meeting was advertised somewhere, would have loved to attend and check out the bikes in person.

Amazing paintwork on some of those bikes. The cedar toolbox is a nice touch too.

Great to see all of the old Blades, I was at Swizzle South when a bunch came by yesterday. Miss hearing my mate Ronald Bleeker’s Hooker that he had on his Moby, and the cut down one that I had on my Gold/Green Peugeot 103 great sound.

Nice looking Kawasaki F6 as well, my cousin and brother had one, built up with 250cc Block etc…

Miss my ol Blue F4 KV100 awesome looking bike!!

I am sure the bikes are awesome, but they way they flew past the bus near missing oncoming traffic I was sure there would be an accident. And one of the idiots was towing a child. I am all for showing off classic bikes and all but safety still should be first. It was funny to see one of the riders on the sidewalk trying to tie back up his muffler.
