Four Day Cricket Clinic For Senior & U19 Players

The Bermuda Cricket Board confirmed that Andy Pick, ICC Americas High Performance Officer, will be in Bermuda February 11 14 to conduct a four-day training camp for the National Team, Under 19 team and BCB National Academy [BCBNA] squad members.

He will be accompanied by Chris Brown, former first class cricketer, England Cricket Board [ECB] Level 4 Coach and ECB spin bowling specialist coach. Coach Brown has played and coached cricket throughout the world and is an ICC Americas coaching consultant.

National Coach, David Moore elaborated, “The purpose of the visit is two-fold. Firstly, both coaches will be working with myself, National Team Coach, Arnold Manders, Assistant Coach, Clevie Wade and BCB National Fast Bowling Coach, Lorenzo Tucker to implement a high performance clinic.”

“Secondly, Andy Pick and Chris Brown will be the conducting coaching workshops open to all BCBNA, Club and Youth coaches throughout the Island. Coach Pick and Coach Tucker will be conducting free fast bowling workshops while Coach Brown alongside national team player Joshua Gilbert to conduct high performance spin bowling workshops.

“Coach Brown is the Head Coach at the Norfolk Cricket Academy and worked with Gilbert last summer while he was at Academy after being awarded a scholarship through the Youth, Sport and Recreation National Junior Athlete Sponsorship program.”

Lloyd Fray, President of the BCB stated, “On behalf of the Board I am extremely pleased to welcome both Andy and Chris to the island to assist our senior team prepare for the World Cricket League Div. 3 [April 28 - May 5 in Bermuda] and the ICC U19 World Cup Qualifier [July 7-14 in Toronto].

“It is particularly important to the Board provide our Club and Youth Coaches with the chance to benefit from this first class coaching expertise and knowledge and I fully expect that they take full advantage of this opportunity.
