Camera Enthusiasts Attend Meet & Greet

March 5, 2013

This first Monday in March, P-Tech sponsored a Photography Meet & Greet organized by Peter Aldrich. Initially for fellow Canon camera enthusiasts, it then came to be inclusive of any photographers who were interested in socializing with others and discussing their love of photography.

Hosted by Pierangelo Lanfranchi and the HarbourFront Restaurant, those attending enjoyed finger foods and beverages while socializing with fellow photographers, ranging from the beginner, amateur to the professional. There were cameras and equipment on display, with new camera and lens models that are available at P-Tech. Some photographers had their own cameras to show.

There were door prizes donated by P-Tech and a year’s membership with the Bermuda Society of Arts. As the organizer, Peter Aldrich thanked all those for attending, and spoke a little about why he had arranged for the function and his hopes to have similar meet & greets going forward.

P-Tech General Manager Todd Martin was on hand as sponsor of the event. When asked to say a few words, he was quick to offer to support future functions with the option to host them at P-Tech. Offering to invite guest speakers to give talks and demonstrations on the many aspects of photography, and asking for input and ideas from those in attendance.

I believe Lloyd Webb offers such classes as part of the community college program, and BSOA puts on (more specific/specialized) classes from time to time.

would have been nice had this been published before hand, would have liked to have attended and met some of the photographers/hobbyists on the island.
