CURB/BNG Lecture Series Continues

March 21, 2013

The CURB/Bermuda National Gallery Lunchtime Lecture Series at the City Hall museum continues on Monday [March 25] when presenters Dr. Leah Wing and Dr. Deepika Marya will speak on Social Justice Mediation.

Mediation is touted as a neutral and effective process for resolving disputes.

However, despite some demonstrated success, research reveals it also routinely reproduces racial, class, gender, and other privileges both structurally within institutions and inter-personally between disputants.

This presentation will briefly discuss these problematic patterns and introduce a new approach that works to provide all disputants a fair process without replicating privilege.

The presenters are university faculty members who have developed the Social Justice Mediation model and have trained over 2,500 mediators in this approach.

The presentation will last from 12:30 – 1:30 pm.
