Tyler Butterfield Finishes 10th In Australia

March 24, 2013

Two-time Olympian Tyler Butterfield finished 10th in the Urban Hotel Group IRONMAN Asia-Pacific Championship held today [Mar 24] in Melbourne, Australia.

Butterfield covered the 1.9km swim in a time of 21:58, he then finished the bike course in 4:31.59, and then closed out by finishing the running portion in a time of 3:04:41 – for a final finishing time of 8:02:06.

The event originally consisted of a 3.8km swim, 180km bike and 42.2km run, however strong winds forced organisers to make changes to the swim course, reducing it to a single one-lap 1.9km swim.

Tyler’s wife Nikki withdrew from the competition earlier this week saying that her leg injury was not quite healed.
