Welch Tribute: “Roots, Rock, Cherokee & Me”

A tribute to the late Edward McDonald Welch [boat builder and historian] will be held on Saturday [Mar 16] at the Earl Cameron Theatre [City Hall] in Hamilton.

Under the Distinguished Patronage of Mr. & Mrs. Dale Butler, the Welch Family presents a night of entertainment in memory of the late Mr. Welch and there will be a video presentation by Dale Butler.

“Roots, Rock, Cherokee & Me” gets underway at 7.00pm with doors opening at 6.00pm. Guest artists include Cherokee Flutist, Taino Indian Singer, St. David’s Island Native Dancers, Somerset Brigade Band and Calvert ‘Kelly’ Zuill.

Honorees on the night include Jane Berniece Walburn Gibbons, Capt. Horace Gibbons, James Alester Gibbons, Winifred Jones, Charles Lloyd Tucker and St. John’s A.M.E. Church.

Admission for adults is $20.00, $10.00 for children [13 and under] with tickets available prior to the event from Mr. ‘Brinky’ Tucker at 297-1597.

    I consider Mr Welch a real Bermudian Legend.
    This should be a Show were all Bermudians should see.
    I knew Wr. Welch and his whole vibe was positive.
    A fine example of a Bermudian.
