Albouy-Lovell Remanded: Burglary Conviction
22-year-old Ajani Albouy-Lovell appeared in Magistrates Court where he was convicted of burglarizing a Spice Hill Road residence earlier this month.
The Court heard the owner was upstairs at the time, heard noises and went downstairs where he found Alkbouy-Lovell hiding under the kitchen table wearing socks over his hands.
The owner grabbed a knife and tackled Albouy-Lovell, who managed to escape. However the owner identified Albouy-Lovell as a neighbour of his.
In court today, Albouy-Lovell — who has previous convictions — told Senior Magistrate Archie Warner that he was hungry and, “I’m trying to stay out of trouble. I cannot get a job. People are shying away from me.”
Mr Warner set sentencing for next month, ordered a Social Inquiry Report, and remanded Albouy-Lovell into custody until then.

He Say’s “I cannot get a job. People are shying away from me.” NO WAYYYY!!!! WHY Would that be???
Because he wears his socks on his hands?
No excuses buddy. You are dead wood.
How many people has he made suffer through his crimes….How about Prison having a school based curriculum where prisoners are not released until they pass a number of education standards…If they feel good about themselves for achieving something, then it may help put them on an achievement track. those that reoffend have to study to a harder level…. or not be released. Easy to get in hard to get out !!!! this couple with hard graft working on Bermuda projects, or building houses in Haiti under guard. Make Prison the hardest work they will ever do, so when they leave working in life seems much easier.
That mandatory education idea is good.
This young man is troubled!! Can’t keep his hands to himself!! I banned him from my home…caught going through my purse and stole from my son…who he says is his friend! Boy what is wrong with you?
Lock him up not for robbery but for stupidity… who were socks on their hands. Dopey boy prolly took em off his feet before breaking in lol
It sounds like this youth is mentally challenged in some way, not just a criminal. The social enquiry report is a good idea, but the real problem is that there is no effective program of mental health treatment in the Bermuda penal system. For these people prison is of no assistance other than to get them off the streets for awhile. A short-term solution at best.
Lol good thing u are locked up … hope they hold u 2..
Really though on bernews??! It’s that Internet thugging…Cyber gangster lmao!!
This is what happens when SOME people try to maintain a lifestyle with no job nor skill-sets. Gotta have it irrespective of how they get it … always at someone else’s expense.
