Daytime Burglaries Reported In Smith’s Parish

April 11, 2013

The Bermuda Police Service said they continue to “encourage the public to report any suspicious activity or individuals in their neighbourhoods, following recent reported daytime burglaries in Smith’s parish where mainly jewellery and electronic items were stolen.”

“The public is reminded to remain vigilant, making sure all windows and doors are locked before leaving their homes unoccupied, even for short periods of time,” continued a police spokesperson.

“We also continue to recommend that all residents secure their valuables out of sight, record serial numbers and details of all personal items as well as photograph their possessions – in particular electronic equipment and jewellery – so that if they are stolen and later recovered, there is an accurate way of identifying them.

“Any suspicious activity should be reported at the earliest opportunity by contacting the nearest police station or calling the main police number 295-0011.”

Bernews – it would be helpful to know the area in Smith’s Parish that you are talking about in this report.

    • More information says:

I have heard of 2 in the area of Harrington Hundreds Road and Knapton Hill vicinity–I don’t know the victims personally, so would not want to mention the precise area.
I too wish the police would give more information—but banding with your neighbors to watch each other’s backs might help. If you see something that doesn’t look right, call the police. I have called on a couple of occasions and someone has come pretty quickly.

we need the right to bear arms so we can shoot intruders instead of patting criminals on the back every time they destroy someone’s life.
