Jekon Edness Replaced By Christopher Douglas
The Bermuda Cricket Board confirmed that it has received approval from the ICC to replace injured wicketkeeper Jekon Edness for the Pepsi ICC World Cricket League event that starts on Sunday [Apr 28].
As the request for the change was made prior to the official commencement date, April 26th, the selectors were free to select from any member of the training squad rather than just the originally listed 18 players. Edness will be replaced by Christopher Douglas.
Interim National Coach, Arnold Manders said: “We are very fortunate that the replacement process occurred at an early stage so that the selectors could replace Jekon with a player that can fulfill wicket-keeping duties if required.
“Losing Jekon at this stage is a very disappointing blow as he has been instrumental in our preparation program. Nevertheless, the squad has sufficient depth that we are able to bring in a player of international caliber and maintain a good balance within the 14 players.”
