May 30, 2013

Assured Guaranty Corp. [AGC] — a wholly owned, indirect subsidiary of Bermuda-based holding company Assured Guaranty Ltd. — has hired Jeffrey M. Brown as a director in its Financial Institutions group.

He will focus on developing solutions for insurance industry clients and report to Dan Bevill, managing director of Financial Institutions.

“It’s a pleasure to welcome Jeff,” said Paul Livingstone, senior managing director of Structured Finance. “His industry knowledge and deep experience are well-suited to pursuing the growing opportunities in the insurance industry.”

Over his 16-year career, Mr. Brown’s predominant focus has been on executing innovative transactions that help insurance companies manage their risks and meet their capital requirements. As a vice president with Goldman Sachs, he developed capital market transactions that packaged life and other insurance risks into insurance-linked securities. Prior to Goldman Sachs, he was a leader in the structuring of reinsurance solutions and insurance-linked securities during his 10-year tenure at Lehman Brothers.

“I am very pleased to join Assured Guaranty,” said Mr. Brown. “The company’s size, financial strength and diversified risk portfolio position it well to help insurance companies manage their risk and capital, and I look forward to supporting these efforts.”

Mr. Brown has a B.S. in Economics from The Wharton School at the University of Pennsylvania. He is a Fellow of the Society of Actuaries as well as a Member of the American Academy of Actuaries.

AGC is a Maryland-domiciled insurance company regulated by the Maryland Insurance Administration and licensed to conduct financial guaranty insurance business in all 50 states of the United States, the District of Columbia and Puerto Rico.
