Digicel Bermuda Sponsors Team Madison
Digicel Bermuda today announces its partnership and sponsorship agreement with Team Madison Digicel for the 2013/14 cycling season, which officially got underway March 31st 2013.
In August 2012, Digicel sponsored Madison team member and the season’s top cyclist, Dominique Mayho, enabling the then eighteen year old Bermudian to travel to France for two months and train with professionals in the sport. Since attaining his personal sponsorship with Digicel, Dominique has continued to progress. In addition to the local race programme, which has already seen Dominique prevail thus far, Dominique has a busy racing schedule lined up outside of Bermuda for this season.
“Digicel Bermuda strongly believes in developing sport on island especially in areas where young Bermudians are provided the opportunity to display and advance their skills,” states Wayne Caines CEO of Digicel Bermuda. “We are pleased to extend our support to Team Madison Digicel which seeks to embrace local talent while broadening diversity in the sport of cycling in Bermuda.”
Team Madison’s founder, Phil Trussell, comments, “This is excellent news for the team and will enable us to continue to develop and attract new young Bermudian talent into the sport. I would like to thank Digicel for their support and I’m sure both parties will strive to bring continued success for Team Madison Digicel well into the future.”
Team Madison Digicel is looking forward to an exciting racing season and is scheduled to host time trials on May 12th in Harrington Sound, and road race on July 7th and a Criterium race on September 22nd at Southside.
