Video: Historical Re-Enactment In Dockyard
An American visitor uploaded a video of one of the Historical Re-Enactments being held in Dockyard through the summer cruise ship season, calling it a “great find” and recommending visitors “check it out” when they are in “beautiful Bermuda.”
In partnership with Select Sites Group, the West End Development Corporation [Wedco] is hosting the reenactments — which got underway on May 5, and will run until October every weekday except for Thursday at 9.30am.
The re-enactments feature actors in period costume giving a short performance to depict life in the Royal Naval Dockyard around 1809, explaining the historical aspects including breakwaters, fortifications, storehouses, workshops and barracks.
YouTuber “kdnp529″ said, “During my recent cruise on the Norwegian Breakaway [May 12, 2013], I came upon this group in historical dress, giving a great performance on the history of the Dockyard.
“There is no charge for this. Afterwards another gentleman gives a walking tour of the Dockyard, also in historical dress. Also free. This is a great find, check it out if you’re in beautiful Bermuda!”
