Photo Set #1: Highland Games At Saltus Field
[Updated with photos] The Caledonian Society of Bermuda is holding its 2nd Annual Highland Games at the Saltus School Field this afternoon [June 15], which includes field events, Highland dancing competitions, bag piping demonstrations and more.
Various tug o’ war competitions have already taken place, with Governor George Fergusson serving one of the teams. One tug o’ war saw 16 women take on 8 men from the Bermuda Regiment, with the women [pictured above] victorious.
The Royal Canadian Mounted Police Pipe Band H Division and their Dancers, the Schiehallion Dancers from Ontario and the Mackenzie School of Dance from Nova Scotia are guest performers at the event, which will also see the Bermuda Island Pipe Band and Highland Dancers, Bermuda Regiment Band, North Village Band and the Somerset Brigade Band.
The event continues until 10pm this evening, and will post videos and photos after it has concluded.
