Video: Warwick Academy ‘Doppelganger Effect’

June 28, 2013

Warwick Academy students are hoping to launch a new internet craze today [June 28] with ‘The Doppelganger Effect’ hitting YouTube. The video [shown below] was officially launched today, and will be shown at the school’s assembly.

Inspired by the ‘You Must Be Hank Marvin’ Mattessons advertisement running in the UK, ‘The Doppelganger Effect’ follows in the footsteps of Warwick Academy’s acclaimed Lipdub production last year, which is fast approaching 30,000 hits on YouTube.

Chris Jones, the Head of Drama and Theatre Arts, said: “The Doppelganger Effect involves the exploits of over 300 students who are fast mutating into genetic clones of The Blues Brothers following a botched Science lab experiment.

“Moving out of the School and covering the island, the video is edited to The Peter Gunn Theme composed by Henry Mancini and showcases the many diverse talents of the kids involved [ranging from 4 years of age up to 17].”

The project name was created by a student and directed by two members of staff, Mr. Richard Cunningham and Mr. Chris Jones.

Warwick Academy was established in 1662, and is the oldest continually functioning school in Bermuda.
