Child Porn: Man Arrested After Leaving Island

July 6, 2013

According to the U.S. authorities, a 60-year-old man was arrested in Baltimore last week after arriving on a flight from Bermuda.

He was arrested on an outstanding arrest warrant from Pennsylvania on child pornography charges, and has been turned over to Maryland Transportation Authority Police.

The U.S. authorities said that U.S. Customs and Border Protection [CBP] officers confirmed that the warrant “remained active” and then confirmed that he was the “wanted subject.”

Officials also confirmed that he had been living in Bermuda and previously resided in Pennsylvania.

“CBP vetts passenger manifests while international flights are inbound to the United States and identifies passengers who may require additional scrutiny, including those with outstanding arrest warrants,” said a spokesperson.

Unofficial reports indicate that the man is a foreign national who lived and worked in Bermuda, having moved here in recent years.

How was he allowed in Bermuda. He must have had a work permit to work here.Check this . do a crime in Detroit, live in NYC , get a police clearance from NYC and work in Bermuda because we don’t check the entire US criminal data base to find out their tru records.A joke!

    • Truthbetold says:

Bermuda probably harbors so many criminals here. They are so worried about who’s leaving the island that has been caught for a little joint of weed or some minor offense. In the mean while they let in all the pedophiles, murderers etc. into Bermuda to work and live in our country. There have been numerous cases of such. Immigration you need to investigate these permits before you let these immigrants into our country. I’m sure there are plenty here from these 3rd world countries and other places. Then you have a list a mile long of people on the stop list for these petty offences, stuck here on 22 sq miles and can’t leave. No wonder this country is erupting with crime. Even though we have changed the government party, it’s the same people in the gov offices running Bermuda…..dreamers.

How did the company he worked miss that?

    • Xman says:

      That’s easy
there looking for a certain Racial profile, the area by which he came from, his religion , amd the Schools
      he attended.

      • Firefly says:

Xman, if the man had no criminal record in the US, he wouldn’t show up on Immigration’s due diligence searches. Racial profile is not even considered as far as I’m aware, neither is religion nor area of birth or residence. Nice try, though, to bring race into the discussion…

  3. Soldier says:

And unlike these jokers in the prison and prosecutions, he will not be getting 1 year. I promise they will treat that like a murder…… 30 years minimum… Wake up Bermuda, We are living in the 60′s

  4. tidbit says:

Well done Immigration Department! I think some of you need to take a skills test(which is only a scheme to say, “well we have done this and that, and they didn’t make the requirements.” A lot of Government Departments function like this and the bad part about it is those setting the test never took one themselves. We talk about scrutinizing the IB in Bermuda, there are enough loopholes to employ people and Civil Service knows how to get around them as well!

This a complete joke to the way the hiring system has worked!

  5. Realty Check says:

I totally agree with the 2 above! I think what is good for the goose is good for the gander! How can we have Government Leaders hiring people without them going through the process. do they have Governmental Immunity when it comes to being hired! Than you get the response that they know who they want so it is not necessary to put their choice through the process. Is that fair or is it arrogance. Lets call a spade a spade. So when this Government and any other Government is voted out(because eventually they will be voted out), their choice is already in the system and will eventual be determining who they will assist in hiring, however being put through a more rigorous process.

Hopefully the SAGE commission will address this in their final report and the Government and Opposition will have backbone enough to set a standard across the board. It has been to long were “its not what you know but who you know” mentality comes to an end. This is how incompetence has been crept in.

  6. Get a Clue says:

He could have been on a blanket/generic 21 day work permit. Those permits do not carry the individual names of the person utilizing it. Nor do they require the same information that a 1 year or longer permit requires.

  7. Yes I said it!! says:

We have a open door policy for American criminals to visit, live, and work in Bermuda… But let a Bermudian be just accused of assault or a petty crime and it is straight STOP LIST for life!!! WTF is wrong with picture?!?
