Emancipation Celebration Awards This Sunday
Heritage Productions will host its 9th Annual Emancipation Celebration Awards Luncheon Sunday [July 21] beginning at 1 pm at the Somerset Cricket Club where former Cup Match players will be awarded for their participation and contribution to the Summer Classic.
Players from both Somerset Cricket Club and St Georges Cricket Club will be recognized there, the Somerset recipients consist of Clyde “Tango” Burgess, Bargun Spencer, St. Clair “Brinky” Tucker and John Tucker. St. George’s recipients include Clevie Wade, Allan Douglas, Allan Richardson and Arnold Manders. A special award will be presented to Mr. Winston J.R. Jones for his outstanding service in broadcasting live coverage of Cup Match.
Special guests in attendance this year will include the Junior Minister of Community and Cultural Development, Alexis Swan as well as Alfred Maybury, President of Somerset Cricket Club and Neil Paynter, President of St. George’s Cricket Club.
Tickets are on sale for $25.00 [adults] and $15.00 [seniors & children over 12], entry of children under 12 years is free.
