Photos: Premier Cannonier Hosts Seniors Tea
[Updated] Premier Craig Cannonier hosted the Senior Citizens Tea today [July 7] at the Botanical Gardens, with over a 1,000 of the island’s senior citizens making their way to enjoy the afternoon’s events. The seniors were dressed to impress, with a variety of stylish hats on display.
The host for the event was Ms Nikita Robinson, and musical entertainment provided throughout the event by Angelis Hunt, the Bermuda Regiment Band, and the Bermuda All Stars Steel Band. Ming Mambo Salsa Dancers also performed before the H & H Gombeys closed out the event.
Premier Craig Cannonier welcomed those gathered and spent time passing through the crowd speaking to those that attended. Remarks were also made by Minister of Health and Seniors Patricia Gordon-Pamplin, and the Premier’s wife Antoinette Cannonier offered words of thanks to the crowd for attending.
The Premier told those gathered: “I am excited and encouraged about our future because of you – the grandmothers, grandfathers, uncles, aunties, sisters, brothers who through the years have gone ahead of us and taken on the challenges of life
“Thank you for sharing your experiences with us, for giving us advice, for fighting for justice, for fighting for peace, for praising us when we were right and correcting us when we were wrong. The evidence of your many accomplishments over the years is why we can be optimistic about the future– it’s because of you.”

the man is just like uncle ewart… loves a photo op. smh
The difference is that Ewart actually had Ministries and worked…This guy only takes pictures…”the photo op Premier”.
And refuses to answer difficult questions and talks like he’s trying to convert from a pulpit and has other people talking for him and etc and etc and etc.
He is just like uncle Ewart in a suit, but no where as smart, brilliant and intelligent.
Our Premier has the moves, and he looks out for seniors. So refreshing!
You will not find my husband posing in the senior’s lineup with the OBA poster boy because I ordered Cannonier’s office to strike him from the list as we are not supporter’s of his flaky/shady government – UBP/OBA.
That’s a plus only happening in Bermuda. And rightly so….congrats for keeping the tradition in -spite-of the cost. Seniors look forward to seeing each other and deserve it.
His first…and last…Seniors’ Tea. I hope he had a wonderful time!
I agree! His days are numbered because he will become history in September. He may end up in the PLP camp once those UBP/OBA soul-sucking vampires are through with him. I’ve a few more predictions concerning the Party. More on this later!
A nice tradition which the senior’s enjoy – and deserve.

We all lok out for our seniors, not just him
@ dthtoo You are correct. The Premier will be given marching orders either at the the O.B.A’s upcoming general Caucus meeting in September,or at the next general election.
