Photos: Women’s Shooting At Island Games
The shooting portion of the 2013 NatWest Island Games took place at Warwick Camp, Coopers Island and The Finger, with both male and female competitors showcasing their skills.
Shooting events contested included ISSF 10m Air Pistol, 10m Air Rifle, ISSF 50m Free Pistol, 25m Standard Pistol, 25m Sport Pistol, 25m Centre Fire, 50m Prone Smallbore Rifle, 25m Rapid Fire, 50m 3 Position Smallbore Rifle, Olympic Skeet, and Automatic Ball Trap.
Bermuda picked up three shooting medals, with Carl Reid and Ross Roberts combining to win silver in the 50m Prone Smallbore Rifle team event, Ross Roberts winning bronze in the 50m Prone Smallbore Rifle and Maurisa Smith winning gold in the ISSF 50m Prone Smallbore Rifle.

Wow, Congrats to Team Bermuda!
With the recent change in the Law, I hope to see more podium finishes, Commonwealth Games and then the Olympics.
This looks to be a well run and popular sporting discipline and they won medals without an $11million Govt grant, maybe we should encourage ‘alternate’ sports that can Bermuda can compete in on equal footing around the world.
