Photos/Video: Bermuda Defeat Falkland Islands
The Bermuda men’s football team went up against the Falkland Islands in the 2013 NatWest Island Games on Monday [July 15], with Bermuda claiming an 8-0 victory.
Antwan Russell scored the first goal of the match in a 6th minute penalty. Damon Ming then scored in the 12th minute, Domico Coddington scored in the 31st minute, and Zeiko Lewis found the back of the net in the 38th minute to end the first half up 4-0.
The second half saw Bermuda grab another four goals, with Rai Simons scoring in the 57th minute, Zeiko Lewis scoring again in theb 73rd, Tyrell Burgess in the 78th and Rai Simons grabbed his second goal of the match in the 84th.
This was Bermuda’s second match of the Games, following after their 3-0 victory over Greenland on Sunday. Bermuda next takes on the Norwegian island of Froya at 8pm on Wednesday night [July 17] at the National Sports Centre.
The first team to arrive for these Games, the Falklands — a fellow British Overseas Territory — has a population of just under 3,000 residing on their approximately 4,700 square miles located off the coast of South America.

All the Falklands team are made-up of British servicemen!!! No big surprises there!!
There are no British servicemen in the Falklands team. Everyone has to have been resident for over a year to quality, British forces are only in the Falklands for less than 4 months.
