BHS To Host Oktoberfest Celebration This Friday
The Bermuda High School is hosting its Oktoberfest on Friday, October 4 from 5:30-9pm in the Queen Elizabeth Hall on the School Campus.
Festival-goers will enjoy authentic German pub music while eating brats with sauerkraut, authentic German pretzels and schnitzel. There will also be a variety of beers, including genuine Oktoberfest beers to sample.
Director of Advancement at BHS, Jennifer Burland Adams, shared, “After the success of our first OktoberFest last year, I am excited to bring this event to the BHS Family and the community at large, once more.
“We are grateful for our partners in this event, Bermuda Import Export, Burrows Lightbourne, Goslings and Miles, who are providing a variety of beers for tasting and to Buzz which has created a special Bavarian Tasting Menu exclusively for this event.”
Beers available include traditional Oktoberfest brews in addition to niche beers from all over the world, and local favourites. This event is for people aged 18 and over only – it is not appropriate for children.
Tickets are of $50 for unlimited Beer tasting and a Bavarian food ticket. For those who wish to just purchase tickets for beer or food tasting, this is available for $30 and $25 respectively.
Tickets are available for purchase online or by calling 278-3004. All proceeds will go to the BHS Charitable Trust which provides funding for various School programmes and initiatives, including the Financial Aid Programme.

Since when have high schools been able to facilitate events on their property with alcohol sold? Wouldn’t BHS require a temporary liquor license?
