BJGA Junior Golf Programme Kicks Off
The BJGA junior programme kicked off this weekend with information sessions for all returning and interested players and the prize presentation for the 2012/2013 Monthly Medal Series at the Port Royal Golf Course.
The 2012-13 season Monthly Medal Series ended up quite closely contested in each of the boys divisions. The Monthly Medal Series ran for 9 months [October 2012 to June 2013] with the 7 best point earning months counting.
Girls Division
White Tees
The Girls Division was again won by Elizabeth Parsons securing 50 points. Emma Roberts came into the Monthly Medal Series midway through the season and will be looking to push Elizabeth in 2013-14
Boys Divisions
Blue Tees
For the first time in BJGA History, the Blue Tee Division had a tie for the top spot between Corey Desilva and Arriek Douglas, who each finished the season with 50 points. It was determined that both players should recognized for their season-long achievement and were crowned co-champions for 2012-13. Justin Dixon Watts was the next highest finisher, falling just short on 48 points.
White Tees
The White Tee Division was also very close with Brady Cordeiro jumping out to an early lead and holding on to win the division with 54 points. Mikus Ming finished second on 52 points with Dakota Lamb third on 50 points.
Red Tees
The Red Tee Division was won by Joe Waters who gained 62 total points overall. Joe’s total points should be highlighted as he earned 62 points out of an maximum of 70 available. Jordan Saunders had a late season surge to finish second on 58 total points, with Kheary Swan finishing third on 48 points.
Jordan Saunders was presented with the Most Improved Junior Golfer of the year award for 2012-13. Well done to Jordan and we look forward to his progress in the upcoming season.
The 2013/2014 season will kick off this weekend at the Turtle Hill GC at The Fairmont Southampton Hotel. Please keep an eye on the BJGA’s website for schedules and news as the 2013-14 year gets underway.
