Four Announced As Scholarship Awardees

The Ambassadors Club is a private group of ten men who have been together for over 25 years. They travel together and meet monthly to discuss current events over dinner.

Each member pays a stipulated amount of dues which are invested; and once a year an amount of money is given to a charity selected by the members. This year the Ambassadors Club awarded Phillip “Shawn” Herman [pictured left] with a Scholarship Award.

BEAYC awardees

The Bermuda Association for the Education of Young Children [BAEYC], an affiliate of the National Association for the Education of Young Children [NAEYC], was founded in Bermuda in 1984 by a group of educators:

  • To ensure that each child reaches his/her full potential intellectually, physically, emotionally and spiritually
  • To improve the quality of programs available to young children
  • To initiate and formulate new ideas and plans
  • To involve the public in the needs and services of Bermuda’s youngest citizens

The Bermuda Association for the Education of Young Children [BAEYC], recognized Mrs. Joycelyn Scotland [1945 – 1991] for her commitment and service to education and uphold her as an example for any individual who is interested in pursuing a career in education. Hence the annual Joycelyn Scotland Scholarship Award. This year’s recipients are Amani Walker, Jamila Eve-Cann and Nicholas Lopes.
