Man Arrested For DUI After Motorcycle Collision
[Updated] Emergency Services attended an accident at approximately 6.30pm on Sunday [Sept 22] on North Shore Road near the junction with The Glebe Road.
The accident involved two motorcycles colliding with each other and the riders of both bikes receiving injuries. Fire Service personnel tended to the injured men before they were transported to King Edward Memorial Hospital for treatment. Bystanders told Bernews they heard the horrific crash but didn’t see it occur. Two ambulances attended the scene to transport the injured riders.
Update Sept 23, 11.57am: The police said one of the riders, a 30-year-old man, was arrested on suspicion of impaired driving. The full police statement is below.
Around 6:30pm on Sunday, September 22nd police and first responders attended a reported two motorcycle collision on North Shore Road in Pembroke near the junction with The Glebe Road.
Both riders, a 30 year old Smith’s parish man and a 71 year old Pembroke man, were injured and taken to King Edward VII Memorial Hospital via ambulance for treatment. Their injuries did not appear to be life threatening.
The Smith’s parish man was subsequently arrested on suspicion of impaired driving. Inquiries into this collision are ongoing and any witnesses are encouraged to contact PC Denise Downey on 295-0011.
