BJGA Tournament At Turtle Hill Golf Club
The Bermuda Junior Golf Association [BJGA] had their weekly tournament round at The Fairmont Turtle Hill Golf Club this past weekend. Both divisions had new names in the winner’s circle, highlighting the depth of talent in the BJGA.
The low round of the day was shot by Kheary Swan firing a 62 around the 2500 yard White Tee track which included three birdies. Close behind was Jordan Saunders on 64 and Dakota Lamb on 65. This was Kheary’s first win in the white tee group having been newly promoted this season .
In the Red Tee Division, Tyler Emery had the low round shooting a 72 on the 2200 yard red tee layout. Kenny Leseur was close behind shooting 73. This was also a first for Tyler winning in the Red Tee Group.
Last Week all players took the week off from competitive play order to have all aspects of their game tested at the Port Royal GC. Merit testing has been reintroduced to the BJGA program this year allowing the juniors to work toward their individual goals and levels by completing testing in each capacity of the game. This exercise proved to be an eye opening experience for some of the juniors and will be of great value to the progress of each player.
