The BHS Angels have participated in anti-bullying training which includes Dare to Care student groups, peer mediation training, and workshops on how to assist other students if they are being targeted.

During this academic year, they have helped to facilitate anti-bullying assemblies for the whole school and they have started leadership duties which include prefecting the Primary and Secondary school during the lunch hour to help support a safe school environment.

The BHS Angels are identified by purple wrist bands that state ‘Be the Change’ and gold angel wing pins. This inspirational group of student leaders look forward to continuing to organize school-wide events aimed at eliminating bullying and promoting a positive school environment.

At one of the schools (I won’t mention which) there was an anti-bullying parent/teacher conference. The woman who was heavily involved and who was giving out materials and showing people to their seats had a son who was the biggest bully in the school. There she was telling everyone how bad bullying is and every day her son would make certain kids life’s miserable.

  2. It’s not that bullying is any worse today. The impulse for cruelty is the same impulse. The only difference is that the tools to achieve that have become more sophisticated. We were about the youngest ones and the older ones would pick on us. When they would bully us, we’d double-team them. We do take bullying seriously and we investigate any incident of bullying.
