There has been a slew of reports linking the former Dandy Town player with various clubs including Aston Villa, QPR, Wolves, Huddersfield, Reading, Leeds and Blackburn, with summaries of the latest reports collected below.
The Stoke City Sentinel reports it “was only a matter of time before Stoke City were chucked in among a growing number of clubs reported to be on the tail of Bradford City striker Nahki Wells.”
Stoke City is a team many local football fans are already familiar with, as Bermuda’s Kyle Lightbourne played for them in the late 1990s.
According to another report at the Darlington & Stockton Times, “Middlesbrough are showing an interest in Bradford City’s Nahki Wells after learning the highly-rated striker could be moving on from Valley Parade this month.”
Bradford’s hometown press the Telegraph & Argus continue to keep tabs on the situation, with their latest report saying Burnley and Middlesbrough are understood to be among the clubs keeping tabs on Wells.
They also said “there is no foundation to reports that Nottingham Forest have been in contact,” and “that an unnamed Premier League club are tracking Wells – not understood to be Aston Villa – and that Wolves had dropped out of the race.”
Winnersports — with their headline calling Wells a “lethal striker” — reports that “despite strong interest from the Championship, Premier League side Aston Villa have emerged as favourites to sign the striker.”
Yet another report from Sportskeeda said, “Bookmakers have made Championship club Huddersfield Town as odds-on favourites to beat off a host of rivals to sign Bermudian striker Nahki Wells in the January transfer window.”
The transfer window ends on January 31st.
