Bermuda Runners Finish Fourth In Trinidad
The Bermuda team of Lamont Marshall, Tre Simons, Jay Donawa and Juma Mouchette finished the North America, Central America and Caribbean [NACAC] Cross Country Championships in Tobago in fourth place as a team.
Marshall finished 4th overall, while Simons crossed the line 11th, three spots back was Donawa and Mouchette finished 23rd.
The day was ended in a tragic way, when Jamaican Cavahn McKenzie died after completing the Junior Men’s six-kilometer event. McKenzie finished 21st in 20:26, but then collapsed and died.
National Association of Athletics Administrations [NAAA] president, Ephraim Serrette told the Express that 18-year-old McKenzie’s death was “cardiac related”.
