XL Nominates Anne Stevens To Board

XL Group plc today [Feb 24] announced that Anne Stevens will be nominated for election at its upcoming annual general meeting.

Ms. Stevens has extensive global business operating experience across the automotive, aerospace and oil sectors. Ms. Stevens spent most of her executive career at the Ford Motor Company, ultimately as Chief Operations Officer for the Americas. In recent years, she was Chairman, Chief Executive Officer and President of Carpenter Technology Corp., and currently she serves as Chief Executive Officer and Principal of SA IT Services.

Commenting on Ms. Stevens’ nomination, XL’s Chairman, Robert Glauber, said, “We look forward to Anne’s many contributions. I believe that Anne’s diverse global business experience will complement the existing expertise of the Board and benefit XL as it continues to execute its strategy.”

The Company also announced today that Herbert Haag, who has served on the Board of Directors of XL since 2006, will not be standing for re-election when his term expires at the 2014 annual general meeting.

Mr. Glauber said, “We are most grateful to Herbert for his excellent service to XL. He has been a valuable presence, from his commendable work as Chairman of our Management Development & Compensation Committee, to the broad industry perspective he brought as the former founding President and Chief Executive Officer of PartnerRe Ltd. His contributions have been most significant, and he will be missed.”
