Bermuda Rugby Team Defeat Brown University
A Bermuda Select took on Brown University at the National Sports Center, with the Bermuda Select coming out on top 48 – 12.
Dustin Archibald gave the Bermuda Select a 5 – 0 lead in the first half when he went over for a Try, Rich Cumbers kicked the Conversion to extend the lead to 7 – 0. Neville Zuill next went over for the Bermuda Select and Cumbers kicked the Conversion to double the Bermuda Select lead making it 14 – 0, Zuill scored his second Try of the game that was not converted leaving the score 19 – 0 and when Tommy Edwards went over for a Try the Bermuda Select lead was extended to 24 – 0. The Brown University finally got on the scoreboard when they went over for a Try and the Conversion was added minutes before half time to make the score 24 – 7.
Minutes after the restart Coner McGlynn went over for a Try after a good run from Zuill and when Cumbers added the Conversion it took the Bermuda Select lead to 31 – 7. Guerhardt Lamprecht scored for the Bermuda Select with Edwards kicking the Conversion making the score 38 – 7. Stephen Husbands and Edwards both added a Try as the Bermuda lead was extended to 48 – 7, but the final Try of the match would come from the Brown University but the Conversion was missed to make the final score 48 – 12.
