BSSF Senior & Middle School Rugby Results
The Bermuda School Sports Federation held the Senior and Middle School Tag/Flag/Tackle Rugby Tournament at the rain soaked National Sports Center earlier this week.
Saltus Grammar School won the Senior School Rugby Sevens tournament with a perfect 4 – 0 record. Saltus defeated Berkeley Institute 5 – 1, Cedarbridge Academy 3 – 1, Bermuda Institute 3 – 1 and the Warwick Academy 2 – 1.
Warwick Academy finished second after defeating Cedarbridge Academy 2 – 1, Berkeley Institute 2 – 1 and Bermuda Institute 3 – 2. CedarBridge Academy defeated Berkeley 5 – 0, Bermuda Institute 5 – 0 and Berkeley Institute edged Bermuda Institute 3 – 2.
Sandys Secondary Middle School defeated Saltus Grammar School 4 – 3 in Sudden Death in the Middle School Boys A Final. Joseph Basden was the hero for Sandys scoring three Try’s including the winner. Quanaceo Hunt scored the other Try. Dylan Somerville scored two for Saltus along with Peter Sylvester.
Sandys also defeated Saltus in the Boys B Tag Final 6 – 5. Saltus got two Try’s from Owen Dacosta and Ruday Hammond with Finley Turnbull adding one. Sandys got two Try’s each from Khyree Hollis, Ethan Fubler and Shaheim Wainwright.
Saltus were not to be denied a title as their Girls won 3 – 2 over Sandys in the Girls Final, ZeKiah Lewis scored twice with LeiLanni Nesbeth.
